FAQs
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Ensuring we begin on a solid foundation is very important to me. Following our initial communication via phone or text to confirm the project aligns with my expertise, I'll arrange a relaxed visit to discuss your project in depth, without any pressure or time constraints. Your vision and my comprehension of it hold utmost significance.
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
What are the existing conditions of the space? Are there any structural issues, moisture concerns, or other factors that may impact the project? What style or aesthetic do you envision for the space? Are there any color schemes, patterns, or materials you prefer? Are there any particular challenges to address? What is the budget for the project? What is the desired timeline for completing the project? Are there any deadlines or events that require completion by a certain date? What are your long-term plans for the property? Will the tile project align with future renovations or resale considerations? Are there any accessibility requirements to accommodate individuals with mobility challenges or other special needs? Thinking through these questions beforehand can help you articulate your needs and preferences more effectively when discussing your tile project with professionals, leading to a smoother and more successful renovation process.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Prioritize hiring a tile installer with extensive experience in bathroom remodels, kitchen backsplashes, and related projects. Review their past work and ask for references to ensure quality and customer satisfaction. Confirm they are properly licensed and insured to protect both parties during the project. Choose an installer who communicates well and involves you in decision-making. Look for precision and craftsmanship to achieve a flawless finish. Discuss project timelines and costs upfront to avoid surprises later on.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I've worked directly with homeowners, with home builders on new construction projects, property managers for repairs and renovations, and a bathroom remodeling company here in Colorado.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Over the years, I've served as an apprentice to numerous talented tile installers, flooring professionals and a master cabinetry builder.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
Earlier this year, I teamed up with a client on a bathroom renovation project in Atlanta. Although they had a general idea in mind, they hadn't finalized the materials. As I began constructing and preparing the spacious shower area, I envisioned enhancing it with a mosaic centerpiece on the main wall to add visual interest. When I shared this concept with them, they were just as enthusiastic, and together we explored options at Floor and Decor until we found the perfect design for the space. Reflecting on this experience, it stands out as a wonderful example of inspiration and successful collaboration. You can view this project in my gallery—it's the green shower featuring a geometric marble-framed mosaic on the back wall. From framing up walls, prepping, waterproofing, tiling the shower and bathroom floor, grouting, and sealing the natural stone, it took just about 3 weeks.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I began my journey by collaborating closely with my father-in-law on new construction ventures within Disney property. The neighborhood of Golden Oak boasts multi-million dollar residences and it was here that I gained firsthand insight into the standards of genuine quality and craftsmanship. Anything short of perfection was simply not tolerated.
